Spring Cleanup Reminder

The annual North Lawrence Spring Cleanup starts this weekend, culminating in our pickup day on Tuesday, April 17th.

Please have everything out to your normal trash pickup spot by 7 am that morning.

Bulky items will be accepted. If you need assistance moving such items to the trash pickup spot, and you don’t use Facebook, please email us with your contact information and what the item is, and we’ll post a request for help on Facebook for you.

Household Hazardous Waste will NOT be accepted on the pickup date. To schedule a separate day to drop off these items, which include (but are not limited to) paint, pesticides, solvents, adhesives, old batteries, antifreeze, aerosol sprays, and mercury thermometers, please call the city at 785-832-3030.

If you are unsure if what you’d like to dispose of is considered hazardous, please check the Household Hazardous Waste website: https://lawrenceks.org/swm/hhw/

If you are setting out boards or other lumber, please remove all metal, staples, screws, and nails from the boards.

The regular yard waste rules apply for bundling and bagging in brown paper bags or your brown city compost bin.

Over the weekend before the pickup, branches and limbs will be accepted for chipping at the site behind Centenary United Methodist Church. No branches less than 1/2 inch in diameter, and no small brush, bushes, loose leaves, twigs, grass clippings, or trash will be accepted. The mulch will be made available for free behind Ted’s house when it’s done.

Thanks for helping keep North Lawrence beautiful!
